History
Food For Thought began in May 2007 when a group of people came together with a common passion to feed hungry neighbors. It began by serving eight families each month and making 50 sack lunches for people downtown on Saturday mornings.
Week after week, the group found that their neighbors were hungry not only for food, but also for companionship, friendship, and belonging. Food For Thought has not missed a Saturday since its inception.
Our Mission
The core mission of Food For Thought is to feed hungry neighbors in a thoughtful and intentional manner. We do this through mobile food pantries, emergency food box delivery, and weekend lunch distribution and outreach.
We identify and address barriers to food insecurity, creating a community where the hunger for food, respect, and belonging is met for all people.
